Travel Guide: Pawhuska, OK in a Day

Who doesn’t love a good day-trip? If you’re planning a trip to Bartlesville and want to explore some of the surrounding areas, we’ve got you covered! Located only 36 minutes away from The BarDew Valley Inn, Pawhuska is a beautiful city full of history, fun, and lots of good food. Here are some of our favorite things to do in Pawhuska!

Breakfast at The BarDew Valley Inn

Starting off at our inn, we’re so happy to welcome you to Bartlesville and get you started on your adventure through Dewey. We are a short 36-minute drive to Pawhuska, 12 minutes to downtown Bartlesville, and only 10 minutes to downtown Dewey! Feel free to grab some breakfast in our dining room before you head out to start your day. Don’t forget to ask us about our favorite stops in Pawhuska, too!

Early Morning: Lodge Tour

If you’re a big fan of Ree Drummond, you know Pawhuska is the home of shops, restaurants, and tours dedicated to the Pioneer Woman. But did you know Ree offers tours of The Lodge, which is where her Food Network shows are filmed? Just pick up a ticket at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile first thing in the morning and head out to her ranch. You might even be able to meet her dog, Henry! You can view Lodge Tour dates here. The best part is, The Lodge is located only 40 minutes away from The BarDew Valley Inn!

Before Lunch: Pioneer Woman Mercantile

As soon as you finish up at the lodge, you have to go back and visit the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. A shop, restaurant, and bakery located down the street from The Lodge. The Merc is full of beautiful home decor pieces and bakeware hand-selected by Ree, yummy comfort foods, and tons of fun for your whole family. Hours of Operation are Monday – Thursday 7 AM – 7 PM, Friday and Saturday 7 AM – 8 PM.

Lunch: P-Town Pizza

Located just across the street from The Merc, P-Town Pizza is a brand new restaurant owned by none other than Ree Drummond herself. Their menu offers delicious wood-fired pizzas, wings, salads, and so much more! Their Potato and Leek pie and Blueberry Cheesecake are some of our favorites, Hours of operation are 11 AM – 9 PM Monday – Thursday, and 11 AM – 11 PM Friday and Saturday.

After Lunch: Osage Nation Museum

This is a one-stop shop for those who want to learn more about the beautiful history of the Osage people. They have new exhibits every few months that tells the story of the men and women of Osage life throughout the years and celebrates the art and culture that still exists today. Fun fact – Osage Nation Museum is the oldest tribally-owned museum in the US! Hours of Operation are 8:30 AM – 5 PM Tuesday – Saturday.

Before Dinner: Osage Hills State Park

Before you get ready to head back to Bartlesville you can become one with nature at Osage Hills State Park. Located only 26 minutes away from Bartlesville it’s a perfect way to end your adventure in Pawhuska. Osage Hills State Park is located on 1,100 acres of lush rolling hills, complete with hiking trails, sports facilities, fishing ponds, and so much more! Hours of Operation are 8 AM – 10 PM, Monday – Sunday.
